Indonesian cuisine has a wide range of side dishes of pickles and kroepoek to sambal in all the different variants. We added a few Dutch things to it... just think of the famous fried egg with rice. That's not really Indonesian but its just Dutch.
The side dishes are often anxious to ensure that the flavors of the main course better reflected. If you eat a spicy dish which alternates with a little pickled taste each next dish again fully as intended. An indispensable part of the Indonesian cuisine you enjoy even more late.
